Sunday Morning Dylan

I spotted this chap this morning whilst on a quick jaunt around Nolita. I loved his hat. He kind of reminded me of a sullen Bob Dylan.

Saw this graffitied Futura subway map image. Overlaying is really nice.

Les Vendanges ( The Grape Harvests )

These images are taken from a book I found along time ago at a flea market in Belgium. The book is called " Les Vendanges "( roughly translated this means " Grape Harvests " )  and is by Janine Niepce and Bernard Clavel, published by hoebeke. These beautiful images were taken in France in 1947 and as you can see they are of wine growers and grape pickers. I do love a bit of vintage and in particular european vintage which I think makes a bit of a change from looking at americana all the time.

My friend Mark, a fellow menswear enthusiast and incredible artist, has a blog you have to check out,  its called " Umanbn ". It showcases his love of sketching and in particular, sketching " Umanbn's ". I always find tonnes of inspiration from Marks work and the man himself, I hope you do to.  http://umanbn.wordpress.com/

Gentlemen's Sport III

Been thinking a lot about fencing of late. I love the clean sophistication of the sport, the gallantry, the elegance and yet at the same time the ferocity. I also started thinking how interesting it would be to start combining fencing with something more rustic and rugged. I started thinking about two farm hands donning their fencing jackets and foils and battling it out in a disused barn somewhere in the Belgian countryside. I don't know why, just got me thinking.

I've seen this guy before, running around the fashion district, always looking sharp. I really like the combinations he plays with. The nouveau huntsman look back to the purple carpet sneakers is very interesting. Does anyone know who these are by or where I could get a pair? Stupidly, I forgot to ask.

Mr Yoo No.1

Mr Yoo is a chap I have the pleasure of working with everyday. Not only is he a thoroughly decent chap but he also has a great style and way of putting things together. For instance he loves to play with blacks though texture and shade. He also has a nice time messing about with proportions. I think I am going to start a photo log of Mr Yoo shots ( with his permission of course ) to show you what I'm talking about!

Swedish Fish-erman

Caught this guy fishing on a recent trip to Stockholm. Waist down, hipster. Waist up, hardy fisherman. Loved the crooked Beanie too.

Winter Blues

Spotted this guy on a recent jaunt around Williamsburg. I really liked the different plays on length and proportion in his  outfit. He was kind of melancholy when I approached him too which I liked. A rarity in " Da Burg ".  Also, all those washed out blue black tones highlighted by the sun bleached beige dismembered Carhartt twill jacket, were also pretty cool.

James Badillo aka " Pretty Boy "

I was very fortunate too meet R&B  singer James Badillo whilst wandering around Soho this morning. Initially struck by his sharp style I was then treated to a Bruno Mars style serenade in the middle of the street. I have to say I'm not a big R&B fan but this guy has a strong set of pipes on him as well as gallons of confidence. The hair chapeau team up is all his own and the way he teamed up the waistcoat and cropped women's bomber jacket (  he informed me it was a women's jacket as we departed ) was brilliant!

Morris Day Peacock

I spotted this modern morris day peacock this morning whilst meandering around soho. Short leather biker jackets seem to be the order of the day this fall. The volume play between the bleached camo skinnies and exaggerated scarf  is excellent and the 80's future shades finish the look off nicely.
